Seminar organized on ‘Role of CCI in development of Agriculture, allied sector’

JAMMU, Sept 8: Nami Dogri Sanstha, in collaboration with J&K Kisan Council, organised a seminar on the ‘Role of Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the development of Agriculture and allied sector’.
Rakesh Gupta, president, Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion and Mahant Rajesh Sharma Bittu, chairman J&K Kisan Council, presided over the event. Capt Lalit Sharma, former APPCF and convener NDS, Dogra Harish Kaila (president NDS, Tejinder Singh Wazir (president J&K Kisan Council) and Kulbhushan Khajuria (president JAKEDA) co-shared the dais besides Vikrant Dogra, secretary general J&K Kisan Council.
Rakesh Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu was felicitated for his outstanding and society related work by NDS.
Rakesh Gupta, in his address, stressed upon the correct database of various agriculture and allied sector produce so that the market requirements, production, warehousing and other infra structural facilities are coordinated properly for better harvest, value addition and better marketability so that the agricultural, poultry and pastoral economy is boosted in the region. He said CCI can play a significant role in this direction. He stressed upon better coordination between farmers, cooperatives, agriculture related corporations, Agriculture Department and the CCI through a coordination cell.
Mahant Rajesh Sharma Bittu said the farmers, cooperatives and Chamber of Commerce and Industry can do wonders together in the agricultural and allied sectors.
Tejinder Singh Wazir stressed upon better coordination between production and marketing of agricultural produce.
Vikrant Dogra said that the economy of Duggar is predominantly pastoral and the CCI has to play bigger role in this sector while Kulbhushan Khajuria said that unified efforts of CCI and farmers can boost the milk production.
Capt Lalit Sharma said that enhancing the produce of agriculture and allied sectors improve farmers’ income which enhance the cultural ethos and cultural urge of the region as economically well of societies can concentrate on its culture and languages in a focused manner and it is the cultural pride.
Dogra Harish Kaila stated that people of Jammu should be economically well off, especially the rural brethren so that people can focus leisurely on their language and culture.
