JAMMU, June 15: On the direction of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, fresh Search Committee was constituted today for selection of Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir.
According to an order in this regard, Dr Mangala Rai, Ex- Vice Chancellor, G B Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh Ex-Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Research and Education (DARE) is nominee of the Chancellor and he shall act as Convenor of the Selection Committee.
In the four-member committee, Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department, J&K, is nominee of the J&K Government while Director General ICAR and Chairman UGC or his nominee are other two members.
Registrar SKUAST-K shall provide secretarial assistance to the committee with a regular update on the progress to the LG’s Secretariat for perusal of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, who is Chancellor of the university.
The Selection Committee shall draw up a panel of names for appointment to the post of Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir.
Pertinent to mention that the post of VC SKUAST-Kashmir is lying vacant for the last more than 10 months. A Search Committee was constituted in July last year to draw a panel of names for appointment to the post of VC SKUAST-K but no name was finalized till date.
