NEW DELHI, Sept 16: Select pulses, led by urad rose by up to Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale market today on emergence of buying by stockists following upsurge in demand.
Traders said fresh buying by stockists on the back of rise in demand, mainly pushed up urad and other pulses prices.
Meanwhile, the government yesterday decided to lift ban one export of tur, urad and moong dal to help farmers get ‘remunerative prices’.
In the national capital, urad edged higher to Rs 5,150-6,500 from previous level of Rs 4,900-6,200 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya shot up by Rs 500 each to Rs 6,000-6,100, Rs 6,100-6,600 and Rs 6,500 -6,700 per quintal, respectively.
Moong and its dal chilka also moved up by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,100-5,800 and Rs 5,800-6,000 per quintal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,400-6,900 and Rs 6,900-7,100 per quintal.
Arhar and its dal dara variety too finished higher by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 4,300 and Rs 6,400-8,200 per quintal respectively.
