NEW DELHI, Dec 19: Select pulses, led by arhar, strengthened by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market on increased buying by stockists, supported by rising demand from retailers against tight supplies.
Traders said increased buying by stockists on the back of rising demand from retailers as well as dal mills against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly kept arhar and a few other pulses trade higher.
In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety advanced by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 4,100 and Rs 6,000-7,900 per quintal, respectively.
Masoor small and bold also went up by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,600-3,700 and Rs 3,650-3,800 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded higher by Rs 200 each to Rs 3,700- 4,200 and Rs 3,800-4,300 per quintal, respectively.
Urad and its dal chilka local too edged higher by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 3,950-5,550 and Rs 4,900-5,000 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya enquired higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,000-5,500 and Rs 5,400-5,600 per quintal.
