JAMMU, Nov 13: Secretary to Government Housing and Urban Development Department, Satesh Nehru made a visit to the Municipal Committee Katra to review the draft Master Plan of Katra town and issued on spot instructions to the concerned to make necessary amendments.
He also directed the officers concerned to demolish the illegal constructions that took place in the past in violation of the Master Plan/building by-laws and directed the Khilfwarzi wing of KDA and Municipal Committee Katra to stop/dismantle all the buildings constructed in violation of laid guidelines.
While inspecting the Katra town, the Secretary visited those buildings which the High Court has sealed and accordingly directed the concerned officer to take corrective measures to address the issue. He also took stock of cleanliness drive carried out by the Municipal Committee Katra under Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan and interacted with the various officers/officials and safaikaramcharies of the Municipal Committee Katra.
Among others who accompanied him during the visit were K.L. Khajuria, Director Urban Local Bodies, Jammu, Rakesh Magotra, Additional Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department, Joginder Singh Chief Town Planner, Executive Engineer Local Bodies Div.II, Jammu and Executive Officer Municipal Committee Katra.
