JAMMU, May 8: Neeraj Kumar, Secretary to Govt. Transport Department J&K visited Central Workshop JKRTC at Sempora Pampore along with Rajinder Singh Tara, Transport Commissioner J&K and Rakesh Kumar Srangal, JKAS Managing Director JKRTC:-
During the visit, Kumar was apprised that the location named as Central Workshop of JKRTC comprises of around 100 Kanals of land. The aim of the visit was to explore the possibility of establishment of high-tech Driving Training Centres and Automated Testing Stations in Kashmir.
The Secretary emphasized to setup technologically equipped Driving Training Centres and Automated Testing Stations for improving road safety and to prevent loss of human lives in road accidents. The establishment of hi-tech Institutions would not only help to bring more efficiency in the work culture but would play pivotal role in minimizing road accidents.
During spot inspection, the Secretary to Govt. Transport Department desired that in view of the quantum of land available at pampore, it would be appropriate that a concrete proposal for establishment of integrated project for RTDC/ICC/ATS be framed by JKRTC in consultation with Transport Commissioner J&K so that transporters/ general public of Kashmir could also get the facility of Automated Driving Training & Certification Centre, as the similar projects are already being established in Jammu Division. The MD-JKRTC was advised to immediately initiate process in the matter so that further steps could be taken in order to facilitate the general public in a shortest possible time.
Ajaz Abdullah Saraf, Additional Transport Commissioner J&K, Rajeshwar Singh Charak, Additional Secretary, Transport Department, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir besides other officer were also present on the occasion.
