JAMMU, Apr 16: A middle-aged man was murdered by four persons near fourth bridge on river Tawi in Belichara area, falling under the jurisdiction of Satwari police station.
As per police sources, 58-year-old security guard of GVR Construction Company identified as Pritam Singh, son of Rattan Singh, a resident of Gole Gujral was attacked by four persons with sharp edged weapon over sand quarrying issue near fourth bridge on river Tawi in Belicharan area of Satwari. The victim died on the spot and the accused escaped from the spot taking benefit of darkness.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where after conducting postmortem the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under FIR number 76/14 under Section 302 RPC has been registered at Satwari police station and investigation started.
However, no arrest has been made when reports compiled.
