JAMMU, July 27: A security guard of a private security agency was injured today after his rifle went off accidentally.
According to a police spokesperson, the injured security guard has been identified as Jageer Singh son of Harnam Singh, a resident of Purkhoo in city outskirts. The accident happened this morning at the office complex of the security agency namely RP 9 at Trikuta Nagar in which the left foot of the security guard was injured.
The injured security guard who was an ex-serviceman from Army was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu from where he later opted to go to Army Hospital Satwari, where doctors referred him to Army Hospital, Mohali.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at police station Trikuta Nagar and investigations started.
