Security forces celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm, patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Aug 16: Security forces celebrated 73rd Independence Day with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
Indian Army and the people of Poonch and Rajouri districts celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with zeal and patriotic fervor in the far-flung areas of the border districts. Multifarious functions were organised at Potha, Jeran Wali Gali (JWG), Satharban, Haribudha, Loran, Daraba, Behramgala, Tararanwali, Dogrian, Mastandhara, Marhot, Mendhar, Dabraj, Hasplot, Sune Gali, Chhatral, Jhullas, Salotri, Nambal, Salani, Dara Dullian, Magnar, Thanamandi, Naili, Saaj, Pargal, Keri, Galuthi, Kanga Gali, Baratgala, Phardala, Harni, Patri Gali, Sabra Gali, Basoni, Peer Baba, Goldh and Palma in Poonch and Rajouri districts.
Various schools alongwith district administration came together with Army to instill a sense of pride on this auspicious occasion. The functions started with hoisting of the tricolour by prominent personalities of towns and villages alongwith Army personnel followed by National Anthem recited with passion and pride which echoed in the region.
As part of the event, school students glorified the occasion with cultural programmes on patriotic themes with fine mix of music, drama, dance, songs, poetry, essay writing drawing and painting showcasing unity in diversity of great nation which left the audience enthralled and mesmerized. The students were suitably rewarded.
Independence Day was celebrated at Beli Azmath Post of 89 BSF Battalion in Marh Constituency. National Flag was unfurled by the senior BSF officers in presence of locals.
Army celebrated 73rd Independence Day commemorating “Ajadi Tehttar Saal, Yaad Karo Qurbani” at Arnora, Doda, Gundna, Bhagwah, Bhart, Khankot and Gei by hoisting National flag and conducting cultural events at local schools. Homage to martyrs and freedom fighter was paid followed by cultural activities at schools and sweet distribution. Flag hoisting and cultural programme by students of Army Public School (APS) Arnora was one of the most spectacular events. Tiny tots of APS Arnora charged the atmosphere with patriotic fervor, fun and enthusiasm.
73rd Independence Day was celebrated in Frontier Headquarter BSF Jammu and on International Border with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Many functions and events were organized on this auspicious occasion at Paloura Camp Jammu as well as on all Border Out Posts. N S Jamwal, IG BSF Jammu Frontier hoisted the National Flag at BSF Stadium, Paloura in the presence of officers and jawans. In the premises of BSF School Paloura the children’s presented a thrilling and colourful cultural programme full of patriotic emotion. IG BSF Jammu Frontier N S Jamwal alongwith all officers and Jawans of Headquarter Jammu Frontier witnessed this eventful function.
NS Jamwal, IG BSF Jammu Frontier visited FTR hospital and distributed fruits and gift to the patients. A plantation drive has also organised on the occasion of Independence Day in which 500 saplings of various breeds planted by the officers, lady wives and Jawans in BSF camp. Independence Day was also celebrated by the BSF personnel deployed on the border and LOC with equal fervour and enthusiasm.
The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated at STC BSF Udhampur. Harminder Pal, IG STC BSF Udhampur hoisted the National Flag in the presence of officers, SOs and large number of trainers undergoing training for various courses.
All the establishments and Institutions of CRPF based in Jammu celebrated Independence Day with full vigor and enthusiasm. Tricolor was unfurled at all the locations. In the program organized at Group Centre CRPF Bantalab, Subhash Chandra, IGP, CRPF Jammu Sector unfurled the tricolor. During the celebration HC/GD Gulwinder Singh and CT/GD Joginder Singh who were conferred with PMG on Independence Day were felicitated by Subhash Chandra, IGP, CRPF Jammu Sector. In addition, tricolor was unfurled in the premises of Montessori School Bantalab by Shalini, GC Head CWA. Children of the Montessori School Bantalab presented cultural and patriotic songs during the occasion. The programme was accomplished under the supervision of Shashi Prakash Singh, DIG GC CRPF Bantalab. Apart from this, the National Flag was hoisted at Jammu Airport and CRPF jawans extended warm honour and salute to Nation. Marching contingent of CRPF secured first position in celebrations at Mini Parade Ground Jammu. The winner up contingent was awarded with trophy by Farooq Khan, Advisor to Governor which was received by Ajay Malik, AC contingent commander of CRPF.
