Secretary CA&PD for speedy digitization of departmental data

SRINAGAR, May 8: Secretary, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Department (CA&PD) Baseer Khan today chaired a meeting of officers of  CA&PD, NIC and IT Departments to review the status of end-to-end computerization of the CA&PD Department.
Deputy Secretary, Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, N. K. Kashmira was also present in the meeting.
Reviewing the progress achieved in digitization of data of fair price shops, godowns and TSO offices, the Secretary emphasised that the remaining work of digitization of data in respect of all the districts must be completed within next 20 days. The digitized data should be provided to TSOs for verification and the entire exercise must be completed within one month, he maintained.
Suggesting for provision of digitized data to PRIs for verification and authenticity of ration cards, Mr. Kashmira said that it would go a long way in identification of genuine cards and cancellation of fake ration cards. He also suggested that State Portals would be loaded with contacts Numbers, e-mail IDs of concerned officers, besides contact numbers of Grievance Cells established in both the Directorates.
The meeting was informed that complete data in respect of four districts is uploaded and sent to Central Server, besides the work on uploading of data of rest of the districts is going on. Additions and deletions of data will be done by the respective Assistant Directors and TSOs, the meeting was informed.
Earlier, Secretary (CA&PD) also called upon the vendors engaged for digitization of data to complete the work within 20 days in consultation with the ADs/TSOs.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Director, CA&PD, Kashmir, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Director, CA&PD, Jammu, G. S. Chib, besides State Informatics Officer and other senior officers of the department.
