LEH, Feb 8: The district administration Leh has imposed Section 144 CrPC in Melongthang and warned the stringent action against the rumor mongers and tresspassers.
The administration has also appealed to the people not to fall prey to rumor mongers. The order in this regard was issued by Additional District Magistrate Leh, Sonam Chosjor here today.
He said that villagers of Melongthang area are trying to encroach the State land after the rumors were set afloat that land is available in the area for acquirement.
Apprehending law and order problem if the villagers were not evacuated from the area immediately, the Additional District Magistrate has ordered immediate vacation of encroachments on Melongthang, banned the entry of people in the area without prior permission from the District Magistrate, Leh and warned strict action against trespassing in the area.
