UDHAMPUR, Feb 8: Jammu Kashmir Teachers/Masters’ Association (JKTMA) today raised burning issues of teaching community including early conduct of DPC.
Addressing a press conference, Association president Rakesh Singh appealed the administrative department to conduct speedy DPC of teachers and masters to lecturers as despite many assurances, many posts of lecturers are lying vacant in rural areas which is adversely affecting the studies of students.
Singh said it has become a tradition in Higher Secondary Schools to depute subject specific teachers to teach higher secondary classes without any extra incentive to him. He said instead of deputing teachers, Government should promote teachers and masters as lecturers to increase accountability and provide quality education in higher secondary classes.
He said that all the vacant posts of Masters (Non-plan and RMSA) are utilized to withdraw the salary of Master (SSA) designated as Head teachers which blocks all the promotional avenues of teachers to the post of masters for long time and Government should resolve this issue by converting all the posts of SSA head teachers to Non plan Masters so that they can withdraw salary from their own posts.
Singh further appealed the Administrative Secretary to look into the issue of pay anomaly and enhance the grades of teachers as per UT norms. He also raised the issue of controversial order 469 and demanded the Government to rescind it for the larger benefit of society.
Besides, Director School Education Jammu was appealed to update the PG seniority list of teachers and masters as per Government order number 252 by excluding all those holding science degrees from Distance mode.
