SDM Pattan orders probe into ‘irregularities’ in PMUY

SRINAGAR, Apr 26: Authorities in Baramulla district have ordered an inquiry into the complaints regarding alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Ujwala Yojana (PMUY) in Pattan area.
The inquiry was ordered by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Pattan which has ordered a formation of a three-member committee to look into the complaints which have been termed as “serious” within a period of one month.
There have been complaints filed by the locals regarding the malpractices in the implementation of the centrally sponsored scheme by one particular gas agency in the district.
Following the complaints, the administration thoroughly examined the issue and formed a committee which has been mandated to record the statements of all the families and come up with a factual report.
“To enquire into the allegations of gross irregularities in the implementation of Prime Minister’s Ujwala Yojana (PMUY) in some areas of this Sub-Division, the following committee is hereby constituted…” the order states.
The members include Tehsildar Singhpora, TSO Singpora and VLW Block Singpora.
“The committee shall record statements of all the aggrieved families, check the records of the concerned gas agency and after thorough analysis submit a factual report with recommendations within a period of one month,” the order adds.
