SDM orders suspension of 2 revenue officials for tempering land records

JAMMU, Apr 9: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jammu South today ordered suspension of two revenue officials for tempering the land records of a person.
According a handout, a complainant approached the office of SDM Jammu South with an application that his land on which he has possession for the last more than 30 years, the girdawaris of the land has been changed by the concerned Patwari and Girdawar in connivance with the land grabbers.
On receiving the complaint, SDM Jammu South called the concerned officials in his office along with record and found that a conspiracy has been hatched by the land grabbers to grab the said piece of land by involving Courts and Revenue Officials in it.
SDM directed the revenue officials to correct these entries otherwise strict action shall be taken against them. On this the concerned Patwari and Girdawar get the revenue girdawaris entries corrected and submitted their report to SDM.
On April 8, the said applicant approached the SDM with other complaint that the mutation no 689/J stands changed by the revenue officials in the mutation register. The complaint also submitted copy of mutation register lying with the patwari (paret Patwar) and mutation register lying with tehsildar Bahu (paret Sarkar) and on pursuing both the documents, it was established that the mutation documents have been changed.
On this, SDM ordered suspension of both the concerned officials namely Sajjad Ahmed, GQ in tehsil Bahu and Mohammad Ashraf, the then patwari with immediate effect and directed Tehsildar Mandal Din Mohammad Afaqi to enquire the matter and submit detailed report with in week.
