JAMMU, Sept 3: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chowki Choura, Jagdish Singh paid a surprise visit to some Government Schools and Anganwadi Centre in far flung areas and initiated action against the employees who were unauthorizedly absent from duty.
At Government High School Kanehn, salary of one absent Master was withheld by the SDM who also directed ZEO Chowki Choura to initiate action against three Masters who had more casual leaves than admissible under rules.
Similarly, salary of one ReT Teacher in Primary School Lamunga was also withheld for violation of norms. At High School Jhang, the ration and utensils used for Mid Day Meals were found stored in a damp and unhygienic room. Directions were issued to the concerned to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the school premises.
Meanwhile, on the direction of SDM, Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar Chowki Choura visited Anganwadi centres at Choura, Chowki and Rah where three Anganwadi centres were found closed. Anganwadi workers in five, out of the six centres inspected, were found absent and even advance attendance was shown marked in the attendance registers. Taking a serious view of these reports, the SDM recommended strict action against the erring Anganwadi Workers and Helpers.
