JAMMU, July 1: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chowki Choura Virender Gupta today conducted a public darbar at Panchayat Ghar of Village Ghaar.
He was accompanied by Dr Raman Jandyal (Tehsildar, Chowki Choura), Rupinder Kour (Block Development Officer), Rakesh Gupta (AEE, Jal Shakti Department), Sameer Khajuria (Block Medical Officer) and officials of other line-departments.
During the Public Darbar, a large number of inhabitants of village Ghaar assembled. They projected a number of demands including making road-connectivity from Ghaar to Dhanna, Ghaar to Sanori, Ghaar to Padoon Manaal-Bangla. The SDM immediately telephonically directed the AEE PWD to prepare the requisite DPRs so as to make these road-links functional at the earliest.
Amongst the gathering, a large number of people strived together for availability of drinking water in their respective Wards, for which the accompanied AEE, Jal Shakti Department assured them their problems will be resolved within a period of week’s time provided the water supplied to them is judiciously utilized by all the households. The SDM directed the AEE Jal Shakti to ensure proper fixation of iron-water taps in all households in the area.
The PRI members pointed out for completion of pending work(s) of boundary wall at PHC Ghaar. Reacting swiftly to such a meager complaint, the SDM directed the AEE PWD Akhnoor to ensure its immediate completion as per DPR of the PHC building.
One of the participants complained about the frequent breakage of electric wires/conductors due to its long-span and yelled for installation of some more electric-poles. The AEE PDD Akhnoor was asked to look into the matter and take remedial measures immediately.
While concluding the Darbar, the accompanying BDO Chowki Choura explained in detail all the guidelines for sanctioning of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Scheme, thereby clearing confusion amongst the participants about criterion/eligibility of PMAY cases.
