JAMMU, July 1: Taking strong exception to the incidents of cheating and fraud with large number of Shri Amarnath Yatris in the matter of registrations, by some cheats, JKPCC has said that the government and the SAS Board should have adopted a fool proof system to save the innocent people.
Reacting to report’s of large number of Amarnath Yatris having been cheated by the fraudsters in the process of registration, the Congress has asked the government to identify such culprits and recover the amount mis- appropriated besides instant registration for such victims/Yatris, so that they can proceed further for Yatra.
‘JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma (Ex -MLC) has expressed concern over such criminal mischief and serious offence by some gang of cheaters, whereby a sizeable number of pilgrims appear to have been looted by the gang. The Government and Shrine Board should have adopted a more perfect and fool- proof mechanism and advised and cautioned the pilgrims, in advance.
The detection of such fraud with good number of pilgrims having been affected is indicative of the fact that more such Yatris could be there in the days to come. So, a mechanism should be adopted to instantly help such Yatris besides preventing this kind of fraud apart from exemplary punishment to those involved in the crime, he added.
The party has extended welcome to the Yatris coming to JKUT in next two months and appealed to all people to extend all sorts of hospitality in tune with our rich traditions. However, it also asked the government to ensure that no hassles are witnessed by the normal visitors and tourists, as some restrictions have been imposed upon their normal movement, Sharma added.
