JAMMU, Feb 18: A three day Sculptors camp organized by Studio Dhruv-Satya-The Etelier at Birpur, dedicated to Late Gobind Kaur, 1st contemporary woman sculptor of Jammu, was inaugurated by Jang S. Verman, senior artist and columnist.
Senior Ceramic Artist, Bishabmer Mehta was the special guest on the occasion whereas eminent sculptor, Ravinder Singh Jamwal and Meena Jamwal, Sarpanch and wife of Ravinder Singh Jamwal were present as hosts.
After paying floral tributes to Gobind Kaur, Ravinder Jamwal welcomed the guests and artists.
He said that 12 artists who got training in sculpture making under his supervision along with other art teachers like Gobind Kaur, Padamshree Rajinder Tikku and Arvind Gupta at Institute of Music & Fine Arts, University of Jammu have been invited in the camp.
He informed that a collaborative installation would be created and would be on display on February 20.
While speaking on this occasion, Jang S. Verman said that organizing such event add to the cultural flavour of the society and is beneficial for the advancement of art activity as well as art community.
Sculptors Jai Singh and Priti Misra—Kangra; Balwinder Singh, Sangrur; Joginder Pal and Renu Bala Kashyap—Pathankot; Kaneesh Pandotra, Kathua; Mukesh and Arjinder Kumar—R.S Pura; Chetan Bandral and Kunal—Jammu; Ankush Kumar, Nagrota and Sachin—Udhampur are participating in the camp.
