JAMMU, Feb 18: During an awareness programme by SKUAST Jammu, Dr Ajay Kumar Sood, CGM, NABARD highlighted various scheme that aims to provide funds for rural infrastructure, offering financial services and aid for the development and improvement of rural areas.
The awareness cum input distribution programme was organized by Agrometeorology Section of SKUAST-Jammu at Keso-Manhasan, Ramgarh, Vijaypur in District Samba, under SC-SP head of NICRA-AICRPAM project.
Dr Ajay Kumar Sood was the chief guest on the occasion and he discussed in detail about agricultural scheme for rural upliftment and also that provide timely and adequate facilities for loans for various agricultural entrepreneurship for the small and marginal farmers. He also distributed the fruit plants and Nano Urea to the farmers.
The programme was preceded by Dr Mahender Singh, Sr Scientist and Incharge AICRPAM, who discussed about weather based agriculture operation in rabi crops.
Dr Pardeep Wali, Director Research SKUAST-Jammu, emphasizes the farmers to take maximum benefits from the forecast services provided by NICRA-AICRPAM Project.
Joginder Paul Mehta, State Marketing Manager, IFFCO, J&K explained about the functioning by IFFCO in J&K. Vivek Verma, Field Officer, IFFCO stressed upon the use of eco-friendly and cost effective Nano urea. Ajit Singh, AEO, Ramgarh, Samba explained about various Govt schemes in agriculture and its allied sectors. Ashok Kumar, Branch Manager, J&K Bank, Ramgarh explained the farmers about the PMFME schemes based on one district–one product (ODOP) which provides technical, financial and business support to micro food processing units in the country.
Dr N P Thakur, Chief Scientist (Soil Science) & Incharge functional, FSR, discussed about Soil Health Management in Climate Change. Dr Vijay Bahadur, Sr Scientist , Plant Pathology discussed about Pest Management for rabi crops under changing climate scenario.
Dr Mahital Jamwal, Dy Director Research discussed in detail about the various adverse impacts of climate change on productivity and quality of horticultural crops. Dr Vikas Gupta, Assistant Scientist, Agronomy, ACRA, Rakh Dhiansar, gave detailed information about Climate Smart water and Nutrient management for rabi crops.
Dr Charu Sharma, NICRA-AICRPAM emphasized upon farming community to adopt improved/modern technologies like agro-advisories services. Dr Monika Banotra, FASAL Project presented the vote of thanks.
