Srinagar, June 16: All India Confederation (AIC) of SC/ST/OBC Organizations has demanded reservation in private sector on the lines of Government sector.
The Confederation also demanded special recruitment drive for filling up of over 60,000 posts lying vacant against the SC/ST/OBCs in different Government Departments.
While addressing a news conference in Srinagar, president of SC/ST/OBC Organizations (J&K), R K Kalsotra, said that the organizations have been fighting for the protection and implementation of the Constitutional rights of the weaker sections in the State. He said that a lot more needs to be done for accomplishment of remaining goals and meeting emerging challenges of this section of the society.
The Confederation demanded reservation in recruitment in Rehbar-e-Taleem, Rehbar-e-Zerat, Rehbar-e-Sehat, Consolidated, Contractual, Adhoc, Temporary, Need basis appointments in Government, Corporations, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank, Co-operative Banks, NRHM, SPO’s, Anganwari workers and other departments.
The confederation demanded that recruitment without consulting SSRB and PSC should not be carried out and ban on adhoc appointments should be imposed.
Kalsotra said there are many cases pending against SC/ST/OBC candidates in courts regarding Government jobs, and demanded withdrawal of these cases as poor candidates can’t afford to fight it in the courts.
