Srinagar, Dec 18 :Journalists today protested against thrashing of scribes on Tuesday by cops when they were covering the clashes between students of Islamia College and security forces in Hawal area of Srinagar.
Scores of media persons assembled at the main road outside Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) office. They were carrying placards reading slogans ‘Don’t teach us journalism J&K Police, Stop harassing journalists’.

Three media persons including Azaan Javiad from The Print and Anees Zargr from Newsclick  were allegedly beaten by the policemen when they were performing their professional duties at Hawal yesterday.
The protesting media persons demanded action against the cops involved in thrashing of scribes.
They demanded that authorities must take stringent action against the cops involved in beating the media men yesterday.
