JAMMU, Aug 11: A free eye check-up and Aadhar card updation camp was organized by the Senior Citizens Rejuvenation Centre (SCRC), Trikuta Nagar, here today.
The camp was inaugurated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and district president Jammu South Rekha Mahajan in the presence of Baldev Raj Gupta (president SCRC), Narinder Mahajan (patron), TR Taggee (general secretary) and other members of the society. The camp was aimed at providing free eye check-up and treatment to residents, promoting eye health and wellness. The event was part of the organization’s community service initiatives, demonstrating their commitment to social welfare.
During the camp, experienced ophthalmologists and paramedical staff conducted comprehensive eye examinations, and necessary medications and glasses were provided to those in need. The event was well-received by the community, with many residents benefiting from the free services.
On the occasion, Rekha Mahajan honoured Dr Amandeep Gupta (Eye Specialist from Zen Opitician) and Nisha Sharma (Food Inspector from CAPD) for doing a meritorious job for the general public. Emphasizing the importance of eye health, she said that the Union Health Ministry has been doing a lot of work regarding “healthy and disease-free eyes”.
