School bus crushes 6-year girl to death

ANANTNAG, June 3: Massive protests erupted in Brakpora area of Anantnag in South Kashmir when a 6 year old girl student was knocked to death by her own school bus.
Eye witnesses said that Lunba Jan, 6, daughter of Farooq Ahmad Mir of Bulbul Nowgam Anantnag came under the school bus-in which she was travelling-at the time of de-boarding of students at Arshid Memorial Institute, Brakpora Anantnag.
Soon after the incident the natives of village along with relatives of deceased blocked the Anantnag-Kishtwar National Highway and demanded stern action against the driver. Protesters alleged that school administration is knowingly hushing up the case.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag G.M Dar reached on spot and pacified the protestors. He assured strict action against driver and school administration if found guilty.
Police said they have seized the school bus and its driver, identified as Showket Ahmad Teeli and an FIR number 160/2013,under Section 304-A and has started further investigations into the accident.
