School boy dies in Poonch mishap, bike-rider in Udhampur

JAMMU, Oct 31: A minor school boy was killed in a road accident near Surankote in district Poonch while a bike rider in Udhampur area today.
A police spokesman said that 6th class student of Army Goodwill School, Surankote namely Saqib Ali, son of Liaqat Hamid Manhas, was crushed under the bus (JK-11/3799) of his own school near Potha this afternoon. The boy was returning home. He was killed on the spot. The driver escaped from the spot while the dead body was shifted to Surankote hospital. The police has seized the bus.
A motorcyclist was killed while his pillion rider sustained critical injuries when their bike met with an accident Bypass National Highway, near village Garnai in Udhampur this evening.
The deceased has been identified as Maqbool Hussain (23), son of Saraz Din, resident of village Mani Kasori, Udhampur. The injured, Youns (25), son of Haqam Din of the same village, was admitted to District Hospital, Udhampur.
The accident took place around 5.15 pm when the speeding Pulsar motorcycle, skidded off the road on the highway. The injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared Maqbool Hussain as brought dead. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
