Scholars, students resent filling up all posts through promotion

JAMMU, Feb 15: Scholars and students have conveyed their strong resentment against filling up all posts of teachers by regularizing RETs as RRETs and promotion of Master Grade Teachers into Lecturers on 100 percent promotion basis.
Talking to media persons at Jammu University, Research Scholar Ravail Parihar along with the other students demanded that the recruitment criteria must be as per the ratio of 20:80 i.e. 20 percent for RET Teachers and 80 percent for Direct Recruitment. And the same criteria be applied for Lecturers i.e. 20 percent for promotion and 80 percent for Direct Recruitment, he added.
“If the Union Territory Government does not take any decision regarding the issues, the whole community of Research Scholars and students will come on roads seeking justice with the unemployed qualified youth because the current policy is the violating the fundamental rights of the unemployed youth who are not given the right to equal opportunity and right to livelihood,” Mr Parihar said.
Another scholar Ramneek Sharma said that the current policy of filling up all posts through promotion was totally against the youth and would degrade the quality education in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Saket Rathore also addresses the press conference and said that the current policy was totally against the qualified youth of Jammu and Kashmir who would never tolerate the same and were ready to fight for the rights of the unemployed youth.
Mashook Illahi warned UT level protests against the discriminatory policy. Others who were present in the press conference, included Ramesh Singh, Palak Sambyal, Chakshu Sharma, Som Raj, Surinder Singh, Vijay Kumar, Sajjad Ahmed, Avishake Raina, Ishtyak Ahmed, Hardeep Singh and Sunny Shan.
