Masroof’s Choo Saaar Omkoi hits stands

JAMMU, Feb 15: M L Masroof ‘s Leela book “Choo Saaar Omkoi” hits the stands today.
The book was released at a simple but impressive function organised by Pir Panchal (CESES) in collaboration with Nagrad Adbi Sangam at Radio Sharda.
The function was attended by a galaxy of writers and poets. The book was released by Ramesh Hangloo president, Pir Panchal and founder Director of Radio Sharda. The other dignitaries included Prem Nath Shad a well known writer and poet, A K Naz president Nagrad Adbi Sangam, Ashok Gawahar, B N Abilash, Dildar Mohan, Satish Safeer, Nancy Chateena, Gopi Krishan Bhat, Rinkoo Koul, Vinod Pandita and others.
Giving information about the book Moti Lal Masroof said that Leelas and Bhajans in Kashmiri which otherwise had gone in oblivion after the mass exodus of community got again gained popularity in the community after the Radio Sharda came into existence. The Radio Sharda became an inspiration for Kashmiri poets old and budding especially those who wrote Leelas and its role in this direction is really remarkable.
He said the book is his third publication and more Ghazal books are in offing. Complimenting Radio Sharda he said it not only came to the expectations of writers and poets in exile but fulfilled the aspirations also.
On the occasion a Leela symposium was held under the leadership of P N Shad who said that Masroof’s work is really praise worthy.
Speaking on the occasion Ramesh Hangloo threw light on the various programmes broadcast by Radio Sharda and said the Radio has become a voice of community after its mass exodus. He said Radio Sharda linked the community putting up in different parts of country to its roots and culture. He said though due to pandemic such functions could not be held often in past saying it is a good news that we assembled and organised this special function.
Hangloo said that the doors of Radio Sharda will be always open all the time for community and will be always devoted to promoting culture and language.
