SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Sports Council Football Academy (SCFA) beat Polo Ground XI by three goals in the final clash of JKFA Big Downtown Football Festival 2020 at Islamia College Ground, here today.
In the first half, both teams dominated from the start and tried to take the lead but it was Afreen Bashrat from who scored a fantastic goal from outside the box in first half and took one goal lead. Half line score was 1:0 goals in favour of SCFA whereas in the second half, Polo Ground XI team put in all their strength and attacked SCFA and succeeded to level the score. SCFA striker Touseef Ahmad scored the 2nd goal for his team while Afreen Bashart scored 3rd goal for the winning team and took the Man of the Match award by securing two goals.
Trophies and medals were awarded to winning teams besides Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament awards were also given to the players.
Total 32 teams participated in this Tournament. The tournament was organised by Downtown Football Community in collaboration with J&K Football Association.
Sandeep Gupta, SP City North, Sheikh Aijaz Ahmad, Principal Islamia College, Prof BA Shah, Hony General Secretary JKFA, Irfan Manhas Youth Developer Apni Party, Taseer Ahmad, SHO Nowhata, Farhan Jahzaid, SDPO, Abdul Majeed Kakroo and many sports personalities were present during the function and witnessed the today’s match.
