JAMMU, Sept 4: All J&K SC/ST Retired Employees Forum in its meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of Prof. G L Thapa has taken serious exception to the utterances of the General Category Peoples Forum (GCPF) regarding the reservations and strongly condemned their statement.
Commenting on the statement of GCPF, the Forum questioned the very system of casteism in the society. It said due to casteism almost three fourth population of the country had to suffer over centuries in the hands of one fourth of the population.
The Forum said had it not been the case today the country would have been a great nation with unity of 100 percent population with real Hindu Rashtra for which some of us are now craving for.
The Forum said that the architect of the Indian Constitution, Bharat Rattan, Dr B R Ambedkar seeing the inhuman treatment to the SCs in the society which he himself had experienced being a member of this community, incorporated certain privileges in the Indian Constitution under the agreement of Poona Pact of 1932 so that these depressed classes could get their legitimate rights of which they had been deprived for centuries together by the people of so called upper castes.
It said instead of demanding abolition of reservation, the voice should be raised for ending casteism in the Indian society and reservations would automatically end.
