JAMMU, May 28: Various organisations of SC, ST and OBC categories have decided to organize a large rally at Hari Singh Park here tomorrow.
Talking to the media-persons here today president of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations (J&K), R K Kalsotra claimed that different organizations of the Confederation have resolved to hold a counter rally on May 29 in Jammu. He claimed that Confederation has been fighting for the protection and the implementation of the Constitutional rights of the weaker sections of the State.
He pointed out that the Confederation in the past has been instrumental in getting reservation Act 2004, SRO -144 and other Government orders passed/ rectified so that SC/ST/OBCs of the State are properly represented in public employment. In order to create awareness among the people of these reserved categories, a rally is being organised to counter the anti-reservation propaganda by the general categories. The leaders of various organizations would address the large gathering during the rally at Hari Singh Park from 9 am onwards on Sunday.
Mr Kalsotra said that purpose of this programme is to counter the campaign of the general category communities. He appealed all the reserved category members to actively participate in this rally.
Representatives from Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Teli Welfare Association, All J&K Gaddi Sippy Sabha, Gujjar United Front, Mahasha Saddra Sabha, Megh Sudar Sabha etc also attended.
