JAMMU, Nov 28: Jammu University (JU) Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Employees Association in a meeting discussed various issues pertaining to SC/ST employees.
The issue of reservation policy adopted by JU for SCs and STs late in 1984 was discussed and the speakers said that reservation benefits to SCs and STs in time and in toto are not being given as per the said reservation policy.
After listening to the woes of all the members in the meeting the Association drafted a memorandum of demands which was submitted to the Vice-Chancellor (VC) for consideration on priority.
The Association members alleged that a series of memorandums have been submitted to former VCs of JU in the last 35 years but unfortunately no heed was ever paid to them.
The speakers in the meeting said that present VC too has not given any attention towards the memorandum.
