SAMBA, Nov 28: A motorcyclist was killed in a road mishap after the bike he was driving was hit by an auto at village Madhwal area of Samba near here, today.
Police said, during the intervening night, the mishap took place at Samba Border road near village Madhwal, when a load carrier bearing Registration No JK21D- 7144 hit a motorcycle bearing Registration No JK21F- 2588, with the result the motorcycle rider received a serious head injury. The local people immediately brought him to District Hospital Samba for treatment but the doctors referred him to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for specialized treatment. But the doctors at GMC declared him as brought dead.
The body of the deceased was shifted to the mortuary room of Government Medical College Hospital Jammu for autopsy. This morning after completing the legal formalities the body of the deceased was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
The deceased has been identified Sunny Sharma, 25, son of Kuldeep Raj, resident of village Bainglarh Samba.
Police has taken cognizance of the matter and started investigation.
