JAMMU, May 1: One day convention of SC and OBC was organized by SC and OBC Co-ordination Committee under the chairmanship of its President Vijay Anand.
Rangil Singh, Senior Vice President of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was the chief guest while Bhushan Dogra, Vice Chairman of Schedule Caste Welfare Advisory Board (with MoS Status) and Vijay Dogra, State President, Women Wing, PDP were guests of honour.
In the convention the main problems being faced by the SC and OBC community were discussed.
The speakers threw light on various aspects and demanded that Government should take care of the down trodden people.
The backlog be filled in all the departments and the hurdles in the way of reservation and promotions should be removed, they demanded. OBC community should be given reservation on the basis of Mandal Commission report, they added.
They stated that the previous Governments did not provide any facility and OBC community is having many hopes from the present Government led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
In the convention, the resolution was moved for implementation of Mandal Commission report in toto.
Bhushan Dogra assured the participants that he will try his best to redress the issues.
Vijay Dogra said that she will devote maximum time for the upliftment of the down trodden people.
Rangil Singh said that present Government is interested to serve the society. He will bring all the problems and demands discussed in the convention to the notice of Chief Minister for redressal.
In the end, Vijay Anand presented vote of thanks.
