JAMMU, Mar 8: State Bank of India (SBI) opened an ATM at Lakhanpur in Basholi Cantonment area of Kathua district today.
The ATM was inaugurated by Brig R R Kumar a Regional head of the Bank S S Kapoor along with officials of the Bank was also present on the occasion. Brig. Kumar thanked the Bank for providing ATM in the Cantonment area as it will facilitate Army personnel as well as the people of the area otherwise they had to go to distant areas for withdrawal of cash.
Mr Kapoor in his address said it was a long pending demand of the Army as well as the people of the area and it is the tradition of the Bank to provide banking facilities to the defense forces even to the places of extreme weather conditions.
He also informed that SBI will install one Self Service Kiosk (SSK) and Coin Vending Machine (CVM) at the shopping complex. He assured that the Bank will open one full fledged CBS Branch in or around the Cantonment by the end of June this year.
Branch Manger SBI, Branch Kathua, C M Bhat was also present on the occasion.
