JAMMU, Apr 20: On the eve of the Civil Services Day, which is celebrated on April 21 every year, State Bank Learning Centre Jammu organized a seminar in order to rededicate the services of the Bank to the cause of the people.
On this occasion, the senior public servants were invited to interact with the Bank Officers and employees who are undergoing training at the Learning Centre regarding the importance and need of serving the cause of the people effectively and in a manner that ensures the benefit of the general public.
Speaking on this occasion, KS Parihar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, emphasized the importance of creating awareness about the various schemes and programmes being run by the Government for the welfare and amelioration of different sections of the society. He also said that Bank officers and employees can play an important role in creating awareness about these schemes and programmes so that the common man is benefitted to the utmost.
He also spoke about the new initiative taken by the J & K Govt “e- governance” whereby the various services are available to the general public which can be availed online in a convenient and time bound manner. Parihar added that under J&K Public Services Guarantee Act a citizen is entitled to receive various types of public services offered by the Govt within the laid down specified time.
Mr Parihar pointed out that the J&K Govt has taken a decision to celebrate the Civil Services Day as the day for providing swift and responsive services to the people at their door step by directing the functionaries at all levels to outreach the people and solve their problems at the grass root level itself.
R S Jamwal, General Manager Operations, JKSRTC Jammu highlighted the importance of the Civil Servants providing an administration which is responsive to the needs of the people. He said that in a democracy the source of power is always with the common man who wields the power to make or break a Government.
Ravi Gupta, Assistant General Manager of the Learning Centre apprised the senior civil service functionaries present on this occasion about the various steps taken by the Bank as a measure to ensure that the various services are provided to the public efficiently, transparently and speedily. He showcased the various schemes of the Bank that serve the cause of ensuring progressive farming, urban and rural housing, animal husbandry, financing of micro and small industries etc.
