JAMMU, Sept 15: Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarash Samiti (SAYSS) observed fifth Shaheedi Diwas of Martyrs of Amarnath land row agitation of 2008 in the premises of Geeta Bhawan, Parade, Jammu today. The programme started with havan in which the members of Core Committee of the Samiti and the families of martyrs participated.
The main function started in the morning in which Ashwani Sharma MLA Bishnah was the chief guest and Mahant, Rameshwar Dass Ji of PuraniMandi was the guest of honour.
RSS Prant Sang Chalak Brig (retd) Suchet Singh presiding over the function after the welcome address Pawan Kohli, convener of Samiti a documentary film repeating important even of the two month long agitation exhibited.
Mr Kohli gave an account of agitation and the agreement reached between the Samiti and Government. Since the agreement was not implement in Toto, Mr Kohli warned the Government of taking the matter again to the people and start a fresh agitation for which the Government will be scarily responsible.
Ashwani Sharma chief guest of the function who was also part and partial of the agitation lauded the achievement of this world know historic agitation. He said that the agitation of the Government toward Jammu province and warned that if the same discriminated attitude towards Jammu is not stop, the people of Jammu who have already lost their patience this time than that of 2008.
Mahant Rameshwar Dass and Brig. Suchet Singh (Retd.) also spoke on the occasion and expressed similar views. Besides remembering the supreme scarifies of our martyrs . Secretary of Samiti Subash Gupta and Core Committee member Dr. Goutam Mengi, Ramesh Saberwal were also present in the occasion.
Mementos on the occasion were presented to the martyrs’ family members.
