JAMMU, Aug 17: In a meeting chaired by former Minister, Yogesh Sawhney, District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) members from Wards number 1, 2 and 3 discussed parking in old city area.
Speakers in the meeting flayed the J&K Government for negligence and failure to address the parking issue in old city and cited the case of an accident at Circular Road wherein three cars fell off from the edge of the road and completely broke down.
Sawhney said that he had intimated J&K administration many times about the severity of the issue of parking in the area but his repeated requests and warnings fell into the deaf ears of authorities.
Other speakers in the meeting demanded attention of the administration towards the issue.
Sawhney also condemned the UT administration for neglecting the people of the Jammu city and their needs.
He highlighted the problem of water shortage that the old city has been facing from the past two days.
The Congress leader urged upon the Government to look into the problems of the people before worse accident happens. He also said that the Government should ascertain that parking facility is provided in old city soon.
Dr Ramakant Khajuria, Vijay Singh, M.L Malager, Anand Gandotra and Ram Magotra from Ward Number 1, Chandra Shekhar Sharma and Atul Sharma from Ward Number 2; Jyoti Vaid and Sushant Gupta from Ward Number 3; Pawan Singh from Ward Number 4; Anoop Gupta and Gurmeet Singh were also present in the meeting.
