JAMMU, Feb 29: Satyam Khajuria won gold in 50-56 kg weight category beating Harshit Sharma after Referee Stopped the Contest (RSC) in the third round, while Ranbir Singh got the better of Vikram Singh to claim gold in 56-60 kg category of the Jammu District Boxing Championship held under the banner of J&K Amateur Boxing Association at Boxing Rink, MA Stadium, here today.
Finals in other weight categories also took place in the two-day competition which was sponsored by the J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
In the prize distribution function, Manager MA Stadium, Satish Gupta was chief guest who gave away the prizes amidst appreciation from the young boxers and the organisers.
The competition was held under the technical guidance of Anil Wadera, Harinderpal Singh, Aarif Wani, Akash Sharma and Rahul Kumar.
Among others present were Vakil Singh, Jagdish Kumar and Joginder Kumar.
The Results (Finals): 49 kg: Vijay Bhaskeran bt Sahil Saini; 50-56 Kg: Satyam Khajuria bt Harshit Sharma; 56-60: Ranbir Singh bt Vikram Singh; 64-69 Kg: Nitin Kumar bt Rohit Manjotra. 69-75 Kg: Bishesh Sharma bt Nikhil Khajuria. 75-81 kg: Kushab defeated Sahil Kumar 3-0; 91 and Plus kg: Ibrahim Mushtaq bt Iftaz Shabir. WOMEN: 45 kg: Muskan Trisal bt Neha Kumari.
