JAMMU, Sept 3: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma started up gradation works of lanes at Krishna Nagar area of Ward 12 near Guru Ravi Dass Mandir. Sharma was also accompanied by Chairman SJC and Corporator, Jeet Angral, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials, local residents and political activists of the area.
The works will be executed under the supervision of JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 8.5 lakh and the funds were sanctioned from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of former MLA which was sanctioned during his tenure and its work was delayed due to Code of Conduct of elections and other reasons, but the work was taken up as soon as the process got cleared. The works included up gradation of four lanes in the Ward.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the main demand of residents of Krishna Nagar was the Nullah which was over flooded in every rainy season and during his tenure as MLA, crores of rupees were sanctioned for its streamlining and now no problem persists in the area and water from deep drains will not enter in the houses of locals which has been a big relief for the locals and it was a problem from decades which was solved under his tenure.
He also appealed to the masses to promote Swach Bharat vision of Prime Minister and asked them to contribute some of their time to fulfil this noble cause so that we can keep our aura clean and green.
Jeet Angral appreciated the efforts of former MLA and stated that crores of Rupees were spent on developmental works in the Ward on the recommendation of former MLA which improved the scenario of roads, water supply, power supply, sanitation and many other things which has helped a lot in making Ward 12 a clean ward. He also stated that more works are in pipeline and will be taken up in coming days in order to avoid public distress.
JE JMC Ranjan Kumar, Supervisor Bansi, Dr Surjeet Singh, Akshay, Ramesh Kumar, Varinder dogra, Anil Angral, Pt. Rajesh Kumar, contractor Ravi, Kanta Devi, Ravi Kumar and many others were also present.
