JAMMU, Aug 21: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) today inaugurated newly constructed lanes number 2 and 4 of the Saraswati Vihar and Hazuribagh areas in Bohri. Sharma was accompanied by State secretary BJP and Corporator Ward 41, Sanjay Baru, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials, local residents and political activists of the area.
The works were constructed under the supervision of JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 10.79 lakhs.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it was indeed a long pending demand of the inhabitants of the area and the deputation hailing from the Ward met him sometime back regarding construction of lane for which he assured them that the works for the same will be taken up soon.
He said majority lanes and drains in all 26 wards of Jammu West Assembly segment have been constructed or renovated and pending works will also be taken up in coming days so that a proper infra could be provided to the residents of Jammu West at their doorsteps. He also appreciated the work done by JMC and also lauded efforts of locals as well for being eyes and ears of their representative. Sharma also asked JMC officials present to prepare estimates for other pending works as well so that their works can also be taken up soon.
Sanjay Baru stated that the works for construction of lanes were taken up after new water pipes were laid in the area by PHE Department, which were sanctioned from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) scheme of former MLA and after the works of laying pipes were completed, a deputation led by him met the former MLA regarding construction of lanes in the area for which former Minister asked the officials of JMC to take up the works in the area as soon as possible in order to avoid public distress.
JMC AEE, Vinay Arora, Supervisor William Massi, Jaideep Sambyal, Sanjay Sharma, Dr Inderjeet Bakshi, Jatin Sethi, Ashok Wazir, Deen Dayal Sharma, Naresh Gupta, Jatinder Khajuria, Atul Chopra, Anuj Soni, Ashish Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Rakesh Sharma, Daleep Mithas, DesRaj, Girish Badyal, Naseeb Chand and several others were also present.
