JAMMU, Jan 24: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) visited Shant Nagar area of Ward 35 and started construction works of three lanes in the area.
During his visit he interacted with many people and listened to their grievances as well.
The works will be constructed under the supervision of JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh and the funds were allotted to the Corporator from JMC under the stage works. Lane No. 1, 2 and 3 of Shant Nagar area will be constructed through the funds allotted to the Corporator.
Sat was accompanied by Corporator Ward 35, Yash Pal Sharma Mantoo, district president, Munish Khajuria, Mandal president, Raveesh Mengi, JMC officials, local residents and political activists of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that construction of these lanes was a long pending demand of the residents of Shant Nagar and that demand has been fulfilled by the efforts of Corporator of the Ward. Sharma highlighted the major works taken up in the constituency in the past five years.
He said that Jammu West Constituency is moving towards achieving the status of a Model Constituency. He mentioned that more projects are in the pipeline and will be executed in a time bound manner. He said there were so many pending demands in the Constituency which were completed during his tenure as MLA and grievances are also solved from time to time in order to provide succour to the public. He asked JMC officers to complete the ongoing works in Ward at the earliest ensuring good quality.
Yash Pal corporator stated that people were facing many problems in the area as the lanes were damaged and now due to the untiring efforts of former MLA, the works for construction of lanes are in progress which will give a major relief to inhabitants. He assured the residents that all their genuine demands would be looked into on priority and assured that their pending demands will be forwarded to the concerned authorities for early approval and execution of the works.
Munish Khajuria said the developmental works executed in the Constituency with the efforts of former MLA have satisfied lakhs of inhabitants and every basic amenity to next level infra has been provided to the locals in order to give every possible facility to the residents at their doorsteps.
