JAMMU, Feb 23: Former Minister Sat Sharma (CA) visited Sarwal Chowk area of Ward 18 and started construction works of lane in the Ward. He was also accompanied by Corporator Ward 18 Dinesh Gupta, district president, Munish Khajuria, State secretary, BJP Praduman Singh, Mandal president, Raveesh Mengi, JMC officials, local residents and political activists of the area. During his visit he interacted with many people and listened to their grievances as well.
The works will be executed under the supervision of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) at an estimated cost of Rs 7.50 lakh and the funds were allotted to the Corporator from JMC under the stage works.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that construction of this lane was a long pending demand of the residents and that demand has been fulfilled by the efforts of Corporator. Sharma highlighted the major works taken up in the constituency and in the Ward during past five years which included construction of all main and link roads, setting up of new transformers to improve power scenario and replacing decades old water pipes with new ones to provide fresh drinking water to inhabitants of Jammu West.
He said that Jammu West Constituency is moving towards achieving the status of a Model Constituency. He mentioned that more projects are in the pipeline and will be executed in a time bound manner. He said there were so many pending demands in the Constituency which were completed during his tenure as MLA and grievances were also solved from time to time in order to avoid public distress. He asked JMC officers to complete the ongoing works in Ward at the earliest ensuring good quality.
Dinesh Gupta stated that people were facing lots of problems in the area as the lane was totally damaged and due to the untiring efforts of former MLA, the works for construction of lane is in progress which will give a major relief to inhabitants. He assured the residents that all their genuine demands would be looked into on priority.
Munish stated the developmental works executed in the Constituency by former MLA have satisfied lakhs of inhabitants and every basic amenity to next level infra has been provided to the locals in order to give every possible facility to the residents at their doorsteps and the pace of development will be increased in coming times.
