Sat highlights necessity of community halls in society

JAMMU, Nov 21: In order to provide basic facilities to the residents of Jammu West, former Minister and Ex MLA Jammu, West Sat Sharma (CA) along with Corporator, Subash Sharma kick started construction of remaining works of a community hall at Lakadmandi area of Janipur, Ward 36 near Durga Mandir.
Sharma was accompanied by Mandal president, Raveesh Mengi, local residents and political activists of the area.
The works have been taken up under the supervision of JMC in which an amount of Rs 30 lakh will be spent. Pertinent to mention, that earlier during the tenure as MLA, he had sanctioned Rs 10 lakh from his CDF (Constituency Development Fund) for the construction works of the hall and now the funds were allotted to the local Corporator for taking up further works.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it was a long pending demand of the residents of the Janipur area and the same has been met so that basic facilities could be provided to the masses at lowest cost possible. He said that a modern library will also be constructed inside the hall so that students can come here to study as well.
He stated that the community hall will cater to the needs of the thousands of people of the area and they are necessary to socialise, learn and to access key services. He also stated that it will be seen that people who cannot afford to pay will also be provided every facility possible at concessional or no rates.
Subash Sharma said that there was no place in the nearby locality where people could gather for religious programs but soon a well built community hall will be constructed to cater to the needs of the public and it will be seen that proper infra pertaining to the community hall is constructed to meet the needs of the locals.
He also stated that major works were taken up in the ward which have given infrastructural boost to many things and has made the ward a clean ward.
Raveesh Mengi stated that for the BJP, public is the priority and party leaders and activists all around are concerned about the well being of the masses.
