Sat demands probe into collapse of wall

JAMMU, July 14: Former State president BJP and Ex Minister, Sat Sharma (CA) along with Corporator Ward 41, Sanjay Baru visited Wazir Lane, Durga Nagar and Colonel Colony areas of Talab Tillo and assessed the loss caused due to the breakage of a wall (more than 100 ft) which was constructed for a nallah in the area. They also assessed the loss occurred due to the floods caused by heavy rains in the city.
Terming the incident as unfortunate, Sat Sharma said that an enquiry by the administration is must in the matter and it can be seen that the material used for the construction is sub standard due to which the wall collapsed. He said during his tenure as MLA, he submitted a DPR (Detailed Project Report) worth Rupees 10 crore which is already lying in the Secretariat for approval of nallah from BSF Akhnoor road to Kabir Nagar must be sanctioned so that the proper works for the deep drain could be taken up.
Sharma also said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi every work is being done by using material of high quality but the collapse of the wall is very unfortunate and such incidents could have caused loss to other things as well.
Sanjay Baru said that the deep drain has been cleaned several times but cleaning is not the only option for overcoming the problem. He said proper construction of the wall is must and with the efforts of former MLA and JMC Commissioner, the works for the same is expected to be taken up in coming times so that proper infra could be provided to the locals at their doorsteps. He also said that the encroachments done on the nallah should also be removed by the administration.
