JAMMU, May 2: Former Minister and Ex MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) along with Corporator Ward 41, Sanjay Baru toured Jammu-Akhnoor road near BSF where general public is suffering badly due to the pending works on side lanes of highway in the ongoing project for four-laning of Jammu Akhnoor road.
General Managar NHAI, Suraj Prakash, Mandal president BJP, Keshav Chopra and several others also accompanied the BJP leader.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the various development projects especially for the widening of the roads have been taken up by the Modi Government but some officers and concerned contractors are causing inconvenience to the commuters of the main as well as smaller roads lined with the main highway.
He pointed out that the connectivity of the smaller roads with the main road is not being taken care of. The connectivity ramp or slopes are not concreted but only temporarily build up with the heaps of sand or gravel and are highly sloped, unable to be climbed up by the two wheeler or even four wheeler. This misadventure of engineering by the concerned authorities is causing daily mishaps, he said. The BJP leader also pointed out that the issue has been brought up in front of senior concerned authorities.
Sanjay Baru also raised the issue of the encroachments of the service lanes along the newly constructed road especially near BSF Paloura Market. He also stated that the Central Government is doing so much of work for the infrastructural development of Jammu and Kashmir but due to negligence of some officers, work is not being done which has caused chaos type situations for the locals.
Mohan Gupta, Jatinder Khajuria, Ashok Wazir and several others were also present on the occasion.
