Sarpanchs from Kashmir call on Relief Commissioner

JAMMU, Nov 29: Vijay Raina, Sarpanch Chowgam and BJP district spokesperson, Kulgam, Kashmir called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Ashok Pandita here, today and discussed the different issues of migrants who stepped in 32nd year of exile. During discussion, Raina highlighted the issues which included launching of recruitment drive for migrants, grant of compensation to over-aged educated youths, enhancement in monthly relief of migrant relief holders, registration and bifurcation of ration cards, benefits to migrants under Operation Sadbavana, setting up of skill and vocational centers, hospitals in migrant camps be handed over to Health Department, supply of portable water to Jagti camp and construction of new flats at KP Colony Vessu.
Raina also demanded construction of new flats at Chowgam and Mirhama in Kulgam district and on priority flats should be allotted to registered migrants.
Raina asked the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner for redressal of these issues which were under his jurisdiction and rest be recommended to the proper quarters. Raina said that during the deliberations Relief and Rehabilitation (M) assured that the issues will be looked into. Sarpanch Rajpora, Sanjay Bhat also accompanied Raina in the meeting.
