JAMMU, Nov 29: Former Minister and senior BJP leader, Priya Sethi today said that the e-Shram cards will prove bountiful to the crores of workers presently rendering service in unorganized sectors in the country.
Addressing a gathering after distributing the e-Shram cards she asserted that the J&K UT will touch “new heights of achievement” with proper implementation of this scheme as this has so much to offer to the unorganized sector workers.
Priya said that over nine crore workers and labourers across the country have registered their names on the e Shram Portal. “The e-Shram Portal, launched in August, stores a comprehensive database of the country’s unorganised workforce. Those registered will be eligible for Rs 2 lakh coverage for accidental death and permanent disability and Rs 1 lakh for partial disability”, she said while addressing the gathering and urged the beneficiaries to spread the message across the UT so that no unorganized sector worker is left behind as the Government wants that every single worker should avail the benefit of e-Shram and allied schemes.
“In future, all the social security benefits of unorganized workers will be delivered through this portal. In emergency and national pandemic like situations, this database may be utilized to provide necessary assistance to the eligible unorganized workers”, she said and added that PM, Narendra Modi has come up with umpteen public welfare schemes for the poor and underprivileged but the purpose of these schemes can only be served when every single soul will get registered and avail benefits of the same. She asserted that the Modi Government wants that not a single unorganized worker will remain untouched by Government schemes and facilities as the main aim of the Government is to provide succour to the workforce in the country with no prejudice or partiality coming in the way.
