KISHTWAR, Nov 16: PCC vice president and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori conducted a tour of his constituency and inspected the progress of works of various road taken up under Prime Minister Grameen Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
With the purpose to review progress on the ongoing road projects in Sarthal area, the MLA visited Angara, Bhagra, Moharwari, Karool villages of Sarthal where road widening and upgradation work is in progress. He said that by connecting various remote and inaccessible villages with the main land, the necessary connectivity is being provided to these which would ensure their socio-economic development, besides ensuring that the pace of development in other spheres of life is also accelerated. A 12 km long Sarthal-Bhagran road is being constructed by PMGSY with an estimated cost of Rs 10 crores and MLA got on the spot feedback on the progress.
Interacting with the people at these places, Saroori said that reaching out to the people, knowing their problems and putting all efforts to give on spot redressal was his priority. He appealed the people to work unitedly for the cause.
Later, Saroori held a meeting of Sarpanches from blocks Bunjwah and Drabshalla in which ACD Kishtwar Akhtar Qazi, BDOs Nasir Ahmed, Subuh Shad; Sarpanchs Mohd Iqbal Keen and others were present. Saroori laid stress on time bound completion of targets which were assigned to the respective BDOs and asked them to monitor the construction works which were taken up in their blocks under Swachh Bharat, IAY, MGNREGA and timely submission of utilization certificates of works done under SDRF.
Earlier, ACD Kishtwar briefed MLA about the works taken up under various components of MGNREGA, IAY and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He also informed that for the year 2013-14 MGNREGA payment has been cleared and Rs 20 crores have been released for MGNREGA work, completed during 2014-15.
