Saroori inaugurates free medical camp

KISHTWAR, Oct 18: To avoid the threat of epidemic following flash floods, heavy rains and disease caused during winter season, two medical camps were held at Chatroo in district Kishtwar and at Khara in district Doda which was sponsored by leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad.
The camp was inaugurated by Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori.
While speaking, Saroori exhorted all patients to utilise the facility of medical camps to identify their problems at an early stage. He underscored the need for organising more such camps in remote and hilly area for ensuring maximum benefits to the people by this type of health care facilities.
During these free medical camps, the team of doctors including Dr Mohammad Latief BMO PHC Chatroo, Dr Sheikh Rais Physician, Dr Sudhir Singh Physician, Dr Shakeel Dental Surgeon, Dr Shazia Gynecologist, Dr Shanaz Gynecologist, Dr Sajid Surgeon, Dr Anil Surgeon, Dr Jaweriyah Khanam Medical Officer PHC Chatroo, Dr Javaid Wani MO PHC Chatroo, Dr Syed Tajasam D/D PHC Chatroo, and other paramedical staff of PHC Chatroo and Health Centre Khara examined the patients. They also provided information, education and communication regarding diseases caused especially during winters.
Around 1300 people from adjoining areas availed the facilities offered by these two medical camps. Free medicines of branded companies were also distributed to the patients.
Later, Saroori attended the function organised by the Sericulture Department at Chatroo and distributed cheques worth Rs 47 lakh among beneficiaries for setting up their own silk worm rearing sheds.
On the occasion, Deputy Director Sericulture Kishtwar, Darshan Singh, officers of Sericulture, CAPD, Revenue, Education, other officers, Sarpanches, Panches, Local Congress Leaders, Youth Congress members were also present.
