Saraf supports reforms, employees’ demands in PDD

JAMMU, Dec 23: Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) national general secretary and national spokesperson Sanjay Saraf today demanded reforming the functioning of Power Development Department (PDD) to provide 24×7 power supply to people in J&K where the Government is claiming to have made reforms in every sector.
Talking to reporters here, today Saraf demanded check on power theft in the UT as it is losing 20 percent of the Revenue through power theft.
Saraf, who showed his total solidarity with the demands of PDD employees and engineers however stressed on making the reforms in the PDD a success for revenue generation and appealed the employees to cooperate in this regard.
He also raised the various issues concerning the people of J&K and those faced by the PM package employees in the Valley.
He announced appointment of Manoj Padha who is general secretary of the party for Jammu and Kashmir as its provisional working president of Jammu.
He said “The recent strike by PDD employees reflects some discord between the Government and the Employees Union”. “This discord must end in accordance to the agreement already signed between the employees and the Government 2019,. The genuine demands of the employees must be met and the employees in turn must understand that every reformation brings change and they must be ready to acknowledge it”, he added.
Saraf also said that the Relief Organisation should review the policy of PM package employees who are working in Kashmir Province.
He said the affidavit and bond which are being taken by the Department during the appointment, should not be made compulsory. This bond should be restricted for nine years up to first promotion so that PM Package employees should be rotated as per transfer policy.
He said the Delimitation Commission does not have space for Kashmiri Pandits and Sikhs because it’s based on population of a particular area. There should be a special case made for these minorities to ensure representation of these communities in the Assembly, he added.
Some political activists from different political parties also joined R LJP on the occasion.
