JAMMU, Apr 24: Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation celebrated Manav Ekta Diwas by organizing voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Shastri Nagar, Jammu. The camp was organized in remembrance of Satguru Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Maharaj and other missionaries who lived and laid down their lives for the mission.
The camp was inaugurated by Bharti Vaid, Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau (PIB) Government of India and chairperson IMPCC, J&K. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Sarita Chauhan, Chairperson J&K SSB, Dr Vijay Sawhney HoD Blood Bank, Dr Lubina, Dr Sonia, Dr Romesh Birpuri, Dr Hardeep Bhagat and R C Puri Regional Secretary Indian Red Cross Society Jammu.
Ajit Singh, Zonal Incharge, Zone 1, Jammu said that Sant Nirankari Mission and Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation have been co-organising various blood drives internationally for over 30 years, where everyone is invited to be a part of these noble blood donation drives. The Humanness Blood Drives also mark the occasion of “Human Unity Day” (Manav Ekta Diwas) which is celebrated worldwide on 24th of April every year by Sant Nirankari Mission. The intent is to encourage everyone and engage youth in particular, to come forward and donate blood for Humanness. He said that Sant Nirankari Mission is a spiritual and humanitarian movement that provides the opportunity to know the source which joins us as one human family.
The camp was held in collaboration with Govt Medical College Jammu, Indian Red Cross Society and JKSACS.
